Meet Isabella! She is quite possibly the daintest little thing I’ve ever photographed, with little bird-like features that were a photographer’s dream. She did so well during the shoot. I got some of the best wide-eyed pictures, and then she was nice enough to drift off to sleep and even let me put the beautiful headband (flower made by the fabulous Hannah B.) in her hair. And talk about hair! I’m pretty sure the girl I’m carrying won’t have half of what Isabella has. That is why I love newborn shoots so much, every baby is completely unique and beautiful.
The is the second baby in a row that has given me the “get that camera out of my face” look. Should I be worried?
Look at those lips!
Congrats, Melissa! She is beautiful!
Meet Josiah Pierce, the newest addition to the street I live on. He is the youngest of 5 kids, and completely adorable. His expressions are priceless, hard to believe he was only 8 days old when these pictures were taken. I was in love with the little newborn crease above his nose and those pouty lips! Thank you, Lisa and Jonathan for letting me come and play with him!
I am so glad I made this cocoon last year. It seems anytime I have a newborn that isn’t too happy, I just plop them in this, and they conk out.
Well..they conk out long enough to get some cute shots.
Sometimes props just done work.
Look at those lips!
I also couldn’t get enough of his chubby little chin. 🙂
We tried to get Katie to give her little brother a kiss…which she did. Only it was the fastest kiss known to man. Here’s what I got…
And this is what I got from the little man…
I love my job.
Say hello to Zayd! It has been amazing getting to know his mother and father, Lindsey and Wathek, over these past months. It seems like yesterday that we were meeting in the Babies R Us parking lot, finding out that they were having a boy. Also kinda crazy how that same day I had just found out I was pregnant. I have watched Lindsey’s belly grow and then watched baby Zayd come into the world. What a journey this has been! There were soooo many pictures taken during this session, so it’s really hard to pick and choose. Get ready for another megapost. 😉
When I got there Zayd was WIDE awake, so we got some family shots.
Bring on the props! Zayd was incredible…he slept like a rock.
Lindsey’s mom bought some angle wings and a halo. 🙂
Congratulations Lindsey and Wathek!
Wow…I am behind on my blogging.
About a month ago I got to meet one of my good friend’s newborn baby girl. Meet Caroline Jane! I was super excited to photograph her for many reasons, but one of them was that she was only 4 days old. I’m thinking, “she’s gonna be so sleepy and squishy…this will be easy!”. Ummm, not so much. This little thing was WIDE awake the entire time and just wanted to stretch her legs. Forget all my cute newborn props I brought, she wasn’t having any of them. Not that she cried…she just wouldn’t squish up and fit! One thing I’ve learned with photography, especially newborn photography, is you gotta just role with things. I think they still turned out beautiful. 🙂
Jessica is a super knitter. She made the little cocoon and hat.
Seriously, 4 day old newborns are not supposed to be that alert.
Caroline’s little piggies. 🙂
See…this baby was not going to sleep.
Jessica made these pants too. I love how Caroline has her hand under her chin. Haha.
I think she cried for maybe 5 seconds. That was it…but at least I got this shot.
I am in love with this last series. Big brother, Harper, wasn’t coached at all. He just wanted to love on Caroline.
Congratulations Jessica and Jeremy. Caroline is beautiful!
